London Lots – ビバ!クリスマス 7“

I guess the fairest term to describe this combined release by The Bad Lots and The London Times would be „novelty“. The London Times were a mid-eighties mod/rock band, while The Bad Lots were one of Masami Hosoya‘s post Ghoul outfits. Both teamed up in 1987 and recorded „Viva! Christmas“, a cheeky rock’n’roll song, complete with harmonising „aaaahs“, organ, a cheesy key change and silly spoken word parts by what sounds like half a dozen singers (actually: nine).

This flexi remains the closest thing resembling a studio release by The Bad Lots, who only had one (live) compilation track during their existance, with some more tracks on Masami Hosoya’s memorial compilation „Masami Meets Melody Mates“.

For Masami completists and fans of novelty christmas songs:

Viva!

I hope this strange flexi is an appropriate end to the strangest year I had never hoped to live through. My best of wishes to all of you, stay safe and stay healthy!
