v.a. 土佐者 2×7“

I may have no idea what 土佐者 (Tosasha?) means, but according to Discogs this is a Kōchi City compilation which is pretty easy to understand. This 2×7“ compilation of Kōchi bands came out in 1997 on Dan-Doh Records. It’s got 10 songs by 9 bands, with Kōchi’s heavy weights Disclose being the one band to get two songs. Stylistically the bands are all on the harder side but this is not a pure noise compilation. Aside from Disclose, Judgement Disorderly are probably the biggest name, but most of the other bands remained pretty underground. Still Kerie Bundy is the best (?) name on this comp (with Galvanize Head and Calf Branding as runners up), and musically Happy Family are a stand out for me.

Judgment Disorderly – Low-Power.ep

Judgment Disorderly from Kōchi (like the mighty Disclose) released this not-so-low-power 7“ in ’97 on Dan-Doh Records. They played pretty simple, straight-forward hardcore with a raw punk guitar sound. In some places it sounds like their guitarist had a lot of fun toying with his effect pedals.

Low-power, great name!
