The Virgin Rocks are what happened after The Comes‘ „Power Never Die“ 12“. As you can probably guess from the cover artwork of their 1986 7″, which was their one and only vinyl release, what happened is heavy metal/hard rock!
After its slow, crooned intro, I Can Believe Only Mind on side A is a mid-tempo heavy metal stomper, with keyboards and wah-wahs, and it’s still a cool and powerful song. I Love Rock on side B is a slow hard rock number for the first two minutes and turns into simple, punky metal for the second half.
All in all this 7“ is stylistically pretty similar to the later Comes, which is cool, but not nearly as cool as the early Comes.
