Systema Ten (天 meaning heaven and being pronounced like ten) from 2017… Is. The. Bomb! It’s just amazing when a band that’s been around for 30+ years still manages to absolutely top themselves. Systema 天 is a bit different in style from much of the rest of Systematic Death’s output, because it’s less straightforward thrash and there’s some wilder, more rocking guitar playing (like on the opener Red Shoes). The songs are still short and crazy fast, the band is scarily tight, and the production has a lot of punch. The six songs on this single sided 12“ clock in at 8:44 minutes, and there’s silk screened artwork by Sugi (who also did the cover) on the blank side.
